Physicians rarely get the privilege of exploring how to create fulfillment in their lives. For some, there is simply a vague sense that there is more to life. Others are deeply aware of what is not working. The clarity and empowerment that arise from the coaching process will generate decisions and choices that lead to growth.
As a Board Certified Physician and Master Certified Physician Development Coach I partner with physicians who want to be intentional with changes they want in their lives.
What I hear from clients:
"With Therese's help I was able to take steps to explore questions I couldn't find time to answer and found clarity in many aspects of my life. (And yes...she helped me get to a place where I could sign off those darn charts!)"
"She helped me connect the dots both at work and at home to find more clarity in my day to day."
"Coaching helped me to feel more in control, despite the chaotic environments that a working mama doc finds herself in."
"Between my pace at work and the rapid changes in my family I want to take the time to be intentional in choosing my priorities to get the most out of life including work."
"I feel stuck in a contract decision that I want to move forward with."
"I think that if I had improved communication at work with a few key people, I would have less stress and more contentment at work."
I have been a physician in clinical practice for over 27 years and the majority of those years have also been in leadership positions. I recognize the challenges that both leadership and the clinician must balance.
There have been times in my career when my love for my patients and for the fascinating intellectual pursuits of the discipline were outweighed by work stressors that many of my colleagues are familiar with. All the years I put into becoming a physician certainly deserved the exploration into greater fulfillment.
In my own life, the time I put into the coaching journey of inquiry, encouragement and self accountability evoked clarity at many levels. I was grateful to learn that working through any friction in decisions or implementation created increased ease in my life. Clarity of purpose supported choices that led to career adjustments, better communications, values alignment, balance with life and ultimately, increased joy.
Now, at this point in my career, I’m so grateful that I took the leap into the coaching experience that I believe was essential to thrive in my life as a physician.
